Missouri S&T has accomplished great things in emerging fields of science and technology in recent years, and is prepared to leverage this intersection of technology and science in fields such as biotechnology and information technology. The merging of these two fields - into an entirely new discipline, bioinformatics - offers Missouri S&T new opportunities to build on our strengths and become a leader in this promising area of study.

An investment of $28 million in these areas of technology will ensure scholarship and fellowship support for the growing number of students interested in these fields as well as funding for new facilities, educators and researchers in the biotech and information technology areas.
